Beneath A Buried House is the second book featuring the Detective Elliot series. Bob Avey has penned another wonderful read which contains many twist and turns to keep the reader on the edge of their seat. His characters are well-developed and believable.
Beneath A Buried House has many characters who play very specific roles in the book; the author tells the story from several view points. Bob Avey has written another page-turner and you will find it difficult to put it down as this one demands to be finished. I would give this one 4 stars.

Ovsanna Moore–horror film scream queen, Peter King–hero detective for the Hollywood Police Department, and an enormous amount of “ancients”– very aged and devilish vampires from all over the world, and from the beginning of time. These “people”–and I use the word lightly–make up the characters in this story.
I absolutely loved it. This book is captivating, action packed and informative. I would recommend this book to anyone, whether you believe or not!!
This book rates the highest with me–6 stars. This book is very well written and is so suspenseful you won’t be able to put it down.

Twisted Triangle
A Famous Crime Writer, a Lesbian Love Affair, and the FBI Husband’s Violent Revenge
by Caitlin Rother with John Hess
Upon receipt of the book when I read the cover that stated the above I thought to myself I don’t want to read about a lesbian love affair. When I read on about this being a true crime novel and read that the famous crime writer was Patricia Cornwell who is one of my favorite authors, I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did, this book is outstanding. This is an excellent read, very interesting as well.
Caitlin Rother has penned a superbly crafted true crime story, she tells the story through the eyes of Margo Bennett. You will find yourself caught up in the lives of both Margo and her husband Gene. You will also experience a range of emotions while reading this one, I felt agony, despair, and even found myself scared for Margo several times. You will learn the triumphs of Margo, as well as her ability to balance her life as an FBI agent, a mother, a friend, and her troubled marriage. You will learn the effects this troubled marriage and Gene ‘s psychotic actions have had on their daughters Allison and Lindsey.
If you are looking for a fast paced true crime novel with edge of your seat impact then look no further, this was a thrilling and engaging read. The author has done an excellent job and has done her research, once you start you will not be able to put this one down. An excellent and engaging read from the first page to the last. A must read and an astounding 5 stars!

This book is a true story about the deaths of three girls. These murders happened in 1963 & 1964 in New York City.
On July 19, 1963 Barbara Kralik was stabbed to death while sleeping in her bed. The murdered entered her home through a porch window, went directly to her room, stabbed her then fled through a side door. The murderer obviously knew her home well, and the fact that the front door was stuck as he did not attempt to enter or exit through it.
On February 29, 1964 Annie Mae Johnson was shot to death with a 22-caliber rifle. Her first autopsy stated she was stabbed to death, with no mention of the bullets found inside her.
On March 13, 1964 Kitty Genovese was stabbed to death in two separate attacks which occurred in the street in front of her apartment building. There were 38 of her neighbors who witnessed this vicious attack and did nothing, not even a call to the police!
This book was very interesting and informative. The author, Charlie Skoller was the prosecutor for the DA’s office, and you get a view of the charges and the evidence in each case. I caught myself trying to “find something that was missed”. Mr Schaller must prove who committed these murders, as he has 2 separate confessions to the Kralik murder. This was a fast read, would recommend to everyone who likes “who dunnits”. I give this book 4 stars.

I found this to be weird; numerous bouts with existance. It was hard to concentrate and stay focused on this one – contained too many stories.
Mars or wherever – would not recommend this one to the usual reader. Every time I would try to read and set it down and walked away and came back to try to finish I was unable and always had to begin at the beginning again. Unable to follow this story or to complete.

I first would like to commend Mr. Lee Martin for his writing abilities and skill. Whenever I first began this book and learned that the main character -Sam- was an elderly homosexual, I thought – there is no way I am going to get into this book—- But as I got past the first chapter and began to visualize what I was reading, I had a hard time putting this book down. The story revolves around secrets, the fact of Sam’s homosexuality is a secret, and the secret he has carried with him since he was a teenager-this secret has to do with his best friend’s death. The characters in this book are so believable, I felt as if I actually knew them.
I enjoyed this book and would give it 3 stars. It is a good read, and a fast read.

This book was a great find from the beginning. I found the writing to be both exciting and eventful. From one page to the next I was involved completely in the storyline. Dr. Amanda “Bell” Brown–psychologist –is very intelligent and a strong willed black woman who is both a Christian and red blooded American woman with desires and needs. Bell is introduced to “The perfect man”, of all places at a crime scene–she and detective “Jazz” are immediately attracted to each other. Throughout the story they are fighting their own demons and the attraction between them.
This story is both enticing and informative. I would recommend this read to anyone who enjoys a good book. Book 2 also sounds inviting, Can’t wait to read it and see what else Bell and Jazz can get into.
