Title: Conquer the Fat Loss Code
    Author: Wendy Chant
    Publisher: McGraw-Hill

Wendy Chant is the author of Cracking the Fat Loss Code and this is the second which picks up where Cracking the Fat Loss Code ends. It is more than evident that the author has taken the time to write for ordinary individuals, making this a very understandable life changing strategy to the way of healthy living. These two books are not diet books but are a life changing strategy to long term health. The recipes inside are delicious and easy, and will be a hit with the entire family. My daughters wedding is in August and I hope to be slimmer and have a tonner body. Highly recommended for those wanting to shed a few pounds, increase muscle tone and live a healthier life.

Claire Conover is a social worker for the state of Alabama. Claire is devoted to helping children have better lives and assisting their parents – if deserving – to also have a better life and keep their children. Claire has a 3 year old client who is found dead in his Mothers kitchen. Micheal-dead of an overdose at 3 years old. While all the evidence points to Ashley, Michaels Mother, Claire knows in her heart that Ashley has changed and that she would never bring harm to her child. Claire becomes the detective in this story, she delves into Ashleys life, finding more than she bargained for when her life is in danger. Many turns in this story, it is very fast paced and action packed. I recommend this read to anyone. I give this book 5 huge stars.

This story line is so many times a true story and it saddens me to know that their are children in this world that suffer only because their parents are strung out on drugs, or a Mother in fear of leaving her abusive husband, or in this case a parent whose past ends costing them their childs life, their childs future, their heart.

Since purchasing my new Kindle 2, amazon has in less than 2 months come out with a newer Kindle with a bigger screen.  The new Kindle Dx is a little more expensive, of course with technology and all the advances we know that when we buy a new piece of technology that it will become obsolete or outdated with a newer version probably before we open the package.

So below is the comparison, to help you make an informed decision as to which Kindle is right for you.

I can say that I am totally please with my Kindle 2 and like the compact size as I can slip it easily into my purse or tote bag.

Face of Betrayal A Triple Threat Novel
    By: Lis Wiehl

WOW, I had heard all the hype and talk about this one and from the very beginning the author draws you in and I could not put it down.  It took me all of 2 days to finish this great read.  I would put it down to go to bed and would pick it back up thinking I would read just one more chapter, then another and another.  The ending is thrilling, and will shock you to the core, the characters are so realistic and as you read you feel as if you know these women. The suspense and twists and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat. This book will rock your world. A MUST READ~!

    Naturally Thin

Naturally thin has many pros and few cons, this is a book written by one of the stars on Real Housewives of New York.  Bethenny Frankel has written this book with some great tips which include how to stop thinking fat and begin thinking skinny, she offers advice, insight, and tips for thinking slender.  Among the pages you will find 30 recipes and other health tips from celebrities.  There are practical tips on eating and staying healthy and fit, and tells the reader to maintain proper portion control, she tells us there are no foods which are off limits as long as you eat in moderation and continue with portion control, all the while remaining as a entertaining read.  The author also encourages the reader to exercise daily as part of helping you to become naturally thin, of course.

    Running from the Devil
    Author: Jamie Freveletti

A great debut novel, a plan crashes in the Columbian jungle and Emma is taken prisoner.  The author has penned a very good debut novel with hopes for future works.  Her character is well written, and the scenes are well written and described in detail with well developed characters which makes Running from the Devil a great action and adventurous read.  Faced paced and I look forward to reading future books from this author. I would highly recommend this one, there were some flaws that I personally found but overall a very good debut.

  • A Refreshing New Look Into the Mystery Realm

    The Rivers Run Dry
    Author: Sibella Giorello

This is an amazing read, I wish I had read the first in the series and will be purchasing everyone in this series.  The main character Raleigh Harmon is written with a flare, you will share what the character is thinking and feeling.  The author has a way of drawing the reader in and keeping you there.  Hang on tight for a fantastic ride, a refreshing new look into the mystery realm.  Raleigh Harmon is an FBI special agent who has a hard time putting up with the bureaus politics, especially when it gets in the way of solving a case. A college student has disappeared and she was the daughter of wealthy parents who had been involved with an unsavory young man who had gambling problems.  The author lays the path of clues throughout as to the perpetrator and you will be shocked at the ending.  A mystery that is worth reading and demands to be finished once you pick it up.  Pick this one up and see what I mean you will stay up late to find out what happens so make start early.  A definite 5 stars!

Last Known Address is a very tough read, I had to force myself to finish this one. In my opinion it is poorly written and found myself muddling through, the characters are not even likable. Would not recommend and would pass on this one.

  • The New Amazon Kindle 2

I have had the new Amazon Kindle II now for about 5 to 6 weeks.  I have downloaded 7 pages of free books offered from Amazon so far.  Over the next few days I will be finalizing my review and will list some of the amazing free books for this product.

Here are a few of the titles that I have downloaded from Amazon.com all of which are free:

Downloaded the following 4 books from amazon.com onto my kindle today 5/15/09:

    1. Weapons of Choice

    2. Elric: The Stealer of Souls

    3. The Merchant of Death

    4. Kiss of Midnight

The following have been downloaded from amazon over the last couple of months and were all free:

    The Cook’s Illustrated How-to-Cookbook

    Blood Engines

    Persuader

    Assassin’s Apprentice

    His Majesty’s Dragon

    Red Mars

    The Babysitter’s Code

    The Wild’s Call

    The Keeper of Eternity

    Still Waters

    Baby Bonanza

    The Bride’s Baby

    Hide in Plain Sight

    Irresistible Forces

    Slow Hand

    Speed Dating

    Price of Passion

    Kiss Me Deadly

    Snowbound

    A Very Special Delivery

    Dancing in the Moonlight

    Once a Cowboy

    Stranded with a Spy

    His Lady Mistress

    Crime Scene at Cardwell Ranch

    Summer’s Path

    Homespun Bride

    Free-Range Chickens

    Caught Stealing

    Six Bad Things: A Novel

    A Dangerous Man: A Novel

    Murder List

    Prague

    The Foreign Correspondent

    The Whiskey Rebels

The Idiot Girl and the Flaming Tantrum of Death

Another great thing is the Kindle 2 works with whispernet technology and the download of the books takes seconds.  And I love the fact that you can download a sample of any book before you buy.

I also purchased a Kindle Cover which holds the Kindle 2 in place and I never have to worry about hitting a button and something crazy happening or losing my place.  If you start two or more books this device remembers exactly where you are with each book and you never lose your place.  I love the fact that you can have the kindle read to you while driving or lying in bed at night with the lights out, it is wonderful.  I do not know how I ever survived without this little bundle of technology joy.
